Interactive English Brighton

Welcome to Interactive English Language School
If you want to travel to Brighton & Hove, or are already here, and you want to study English Language in a warm friendly atmosphere and still get the highest quality tuition, then we think that Interactive English is for you. We are a small friendly school, owned by a teacher and run for the students.
Being a small school means that Interactive English Brighton can cater for your individual needs more easily than larger schools can. But, being small doesn’t mean that we aren’t as good as bigger schools; all of our teachers are qualified, and we use the highest quality course books and materials.
Interactive English Brighton students are multinational, so you can usually find someone who speaks your language when you want to, but you can always find someone who doesn’t speak your language when you want to practise your English.
As well as General English courses, we also offer IELTS, BEC and FCE exam preparation courses.

Where is Interactive English Brighton?

Interactive English Brighton is in the centre of Hove, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, on the main shopping street.

Interactive English Brighton’s Accreditations: Interactive English Language School Ltd is on the official British Government list of approved educational institutions for visa application purposes, and holds a Tier 4 Licence from the UK Border Agency as Highly Trusted Sponsor.  Also Interactive school is accredited by the British Council and operates  according to the standards laid down by the British Council in respect of school  premises and facilities, teacher qualifications, teaching quality, administration and welfare. Interactive English is a member of English UK, the national association of accredited English language centres.

Interactive English Language School Limited is a private college for adults, whose primary educational focus is providing quality English language tuition to non-native speakers of English in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment. For many of our learners, their time with us is the first time they have travelled outside their countries, so we endeavour to make the experience a positive and encouraging one that will expand the learners’ linguistic, educational, intellectual, and social horizons.

Interactive English Brighton aims are to:

  • encourage learners to take possession of their learning,
  • encourage the development of cross-cultural relationships,
  • encourage learners to think critically and freely,
  • facilitate the development of learners’ global (not purely English) communication skills,
  • encourage learners to engage in life-long learning.
  • Teaching Policy

The following guiding principles are to be considered in the planning and execution of courses and lessons, and the selection of teaching materials, activities, methods, and methodologies.

  • Teaching is about the development of the whole person.
  • All learners are given equality of opportunity in learning.
  • Teaching builds on learners’ strengths, interests and experiences.
  • Learners are presented with a wide range of learning opportunities.
  • Learners are presented with new challenges.
  • Teaching reflects the learners’ place in the global community.
Interactive English Brighton Courses

All of Interactive English Brighton full-time courses consist of 15 hours per week classroom time with 10 hours per week of home study. All classes are conducted by fully qualified teachers using the most up to date materials and methods, and are focused on the needs and abilities of the students as individuals as well as a group. Because the classes are small, the maximum number of students is 15, but on average 9, all students have a good deal of individual attention and plenty of opportunity to practice their speaking in class.

If you need to prove your level of English to an employer or a university or college, you should take an internationally recognized English language test. These are offered locally to our school by IELTS and Cambridge ESOL. In the courses you will be given tuition in all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) and all grammar and vocabulary needed to gain success in the examination. In addition, all of our exam preparation courses include a full practice examination every two weeks.

In order to get the most from your stay in the UK, we recommend that you book accommodation in a homestay so that you can get a feel for life in the UK. We will organise a homestay for you so that you can move in as soon as you arrive. There are a number of packages available: self catering or half board, private room or sharing, and these come at varying costs.

The most popular, and best, place to stay is in a homestay. You will have a room, either private or shared, in a local family’s house, and will have the choice of eating with the family or making your own meals. You can also stay in a hotel or in a room in a shared student house, but you will have to organise your own accommodation, although we will advise you on the best options.

If you wish to arrange accommodation by yourself, please contact us.

You can find a room to rent, a flat to rent or even bed and breakfast or a hostel.

Alternatively, you could stay in a student house, sharing accommodation with other international learners of English. This requires a deposit to be paid, and costs £75.00 per week plus bills.
